Maysou A Noste is a Coliving community that emerged from a desire to explore alternative -more regenerative- ways for fulfilling needs. In 2023, we acquired a 200-year-old, 1800m2 building, with the intention of renovating it and regenerate surrounding land. With complementary skills among our team, we're embarking on a labor of love that we anticipate will last for generations. Each member of our team has led unique, alternative, and contrasting lives, which has given us distinct and overlapping ideas, values, and philosophies that we plan to channel into this project. We have ambitious goals, and we recognize that these can only be achieved with the support of a diverse group of contributors.&nbsp; <h2>Why is this necessary?</h2>"Ideologies, labels, tastes, and preferences could be very segregating sometimes; we've slaughtered each other for being different. But actually, what most humans want and need are pretty universal". Most of us want to live in beautiful places, eat healthy food, surround ourselves with close communities for a sense of belonging and security, experience art, music, and other forms of creativity and fun, and have certain levels of freedom to spend our time exploring cultures, skills, and interests. At A Noste Maysou, we recognize these fundamental human desires that transcend boundaries and bring people together. We understand that the pandemic of loneliness and the limitations of individualism have left us yearning for meaningful connections and shared experiences. We stand as a response to this yearning, offering a space for intentional community living, where we can collectively fulfill these universal aspirations. In our community, we encourage a spirit of 'tryocracy' - just try it! - that embraces experimentation, collaboration to strengthen social bonds, and a profound joy of living that infuses every aspect of our communal life with positive energy. By focusing on these shared ideals, we aim to bridge the gaps that divide us and create a place where individuals from diverse backgrounds can come together to create something beautiful, something nurturing, and something that answers the call of our shared human needs. Join us in redefining the meaning of community, where our common human desires take precedence over the differences that have separated us for far too long." <h2>For those who come and those who stay</h2>We are deeply rooted in our local community. From organising events in our spaces to helping out at people's farms and properties in what we call "participatory work days", we embrace hyperlocality and the relationships that it generates to strengthen the social fabric of the places we live, establish mutual aid networks and regenerate social bonds. Regeneration is not only ecological, but human too. At the same time, coming from very international and diverse backgrounds, we look outward to the diversity of the world. We place an incredible value on the exchange of ideas that travellers bring, making intentional efforts to turn our space into a dual osmosis membrane where people come and acquire skills and ideas and leave new thoughts and knowledge to live on on-site. <h2>Be a part of it</h2>Now, you may be wondering what we're raising money for and how much we need. We're currently in need of funds to restore this historical building to its former glory. Over the years, it has been maltreated by its previous owner and tenants. We're aiming to buy paint, repair the windows and some roofing issues, secure the gutters and address a thousand small damages around this magnificent building.
